This year, the community will gather on the hospital’s front lawn to celebrate the annual lighting of the hospital tree. The 2019 Tree of Lights is presented by sponsor TC Federal Bank. Camp HEAL: Helping children cope with loss Saturday, Oct. 19 Camp Pineywoods 233 U.S. Route 84, Thomasville Archbold’s Hospice of Southwest Georgia will host the 14th annual Camp HEAL (Healing and Encouragement After Loss), a bereavement day camp that helps children ages 6 to 17 learn how to cope with the loss of a loved one. The day camp, funded through designated gifts made to the Archbold Foundation, is free and open to children who have recently experienced a loss. Trained professionals and volunteers assist with therapeutic activities, art therapy and edu- cational discussions on grief and bereavement—while helping the children discuss the loss of their loved one and how to work through grief.
