4 ARCHBOLD MEDICAL CENTER Archbold installs new CT scanner Archbold Memorial Hospital recently installed a new computed-tomography (CT) scanner that’s even faster and more versatile than the machine it’s replacing. In fact, using the new scanner technology, Archbold radiology staff anticipates they will be able to reduce a patient’s scan time to less than 15 seconds. Archbold’s new Revolution™ EVO CT scanning system is designed to support a variety of patients, from complex trauma to cardiac cases. The Revolution™ EVO also offers an improved patient experience with fast scanning for patients of varying sizes. With an increased weight limit of the patient table and the improved low-contrast detectability, physicians are able to obtain images of patients weigh- ing up to 675 pounds. The new technology also allows physicians to receive quick, low-dose images of pediatric patients. Grady General named Top Small Hospital in Georgia Georgia Trend magazine recently named Archbold’s Grady General Hospital a Top Hospital in Georgia again. This year, Grady General landed the No. 1 spot on the Top Small Hospital (fewer than 100 beds) list. Grady General was also recently given two prestigious awards for quality and patient safety by the Georgia Hospital Association’s Partnership for Health and Accountability. In addition, Grady received a Circle of Excellence Award, an honor given to hospitals and health systems that have demonstrated a sustained commitment to quality and patient safety as evidenced by not only winning a patient safety award in 2018, but by earning three or more PHA Patient Safety Awards within the previous five years. Archbold brings advanced MRI to Thomasville Archbold Memorial Hospital installed a new MRI machine in March. The magnetic resonance imaging machine will provide a whole new level of patient comfort, with adaptable coil designs and acceleration techniques that mini- mize scan times and improve image quality.
