WINTER 2016
7
Earlier this fall, the Archbold Foundation set a fundraising goal
of $530,000, with the intent to purchase 3-D mammography
technology to be housed at the Archbold Women’s Center.
With the help of several local private donors and large pledges
from Thomasville Toyota and the Archbold Auxiliary, along with
funds raised from the hospital’s annual A Pink Affair cancer survivor
fashion show, the Foundation was able to meet this goal.
“We’re so grateful for how our community joined together
to support the fundraising efforts for this important breast
cancer screening tool,” said Vann Middleton, president of
the Archbold Foundation. “This tool will make a difference
in the lives of many women across our region. We have such
a generous community, and it makes me very proud to see
businesses and individuals support the Archbold Foundation
in helping to ensure our patients have access to the very best
technology available.”

mammography fundraising
In October, staff from Thomasville Toyota joined Gregg
Isaacs, President, Thomasville Toyota; J. Lee Graham,
General Manager; Harry L. Cheney, General Sales Manager;
and Brad Ramsey, Service Manager, to present the
Archbold Foundation with a check for $10,000 in sup-
port of Archbold’s annual A Pink Affair, a cancer survivor
benefit fashion show. Archbold Foundation President Vann
Middleton, Archbold radiologist Mary Anne Bullard Grayson,
MD; Archbold Director of Radiology Allison Donaldson; and
Singletary Oncology Center Breast Cancer Navigator Debbie
Beeson were present to receive the donation.
In addition to Thomasville Toyota’s initial $10,000 spon-
sorship of the Pink Affair event, the dealership pledged to
donate $100 from every car sold in October to the Archbold
Foundation to continue their support in helping fund the
purchase of 3-D mammography technology at Archbold.
The Archbold Auxiliary recently committed to a $100,000
donation to the Archbold Foundation, designated specifically
for the purchase of 3-D mammography technology. The
group of volunteers—which are widely known for the time
they spend volunteering their time and talents in various
departments of the hospital—raise funds year-round through
Auxiliary Gift Shop sales and various other fundraisers. The
money raised helps fund health care academic scholarships
and patient programs and assists the hospital with purchasing
medical equipment and technology, like 3-D mammography
technology.
Archbold’s annual A Pink Affair, a cancer survivor benefit
fashion show, was held on Oct. 23 at the Singletary Oncology
Center. Record ticket sales and generous sponsor support of
the event totaled $30,000, an amount that ultimately led to
the meeting of the hospital’s fundraising goal to purchase the
3-D mammography technology.
